South Mall in Salisbury Township has seen a resurgence in its retail landscape, bucking the trend of struggling shopping centers. Already home to popular stores like Bath & Body Works and Blick Art Materials, the mall has recently welcomed six new tenants. Charmed Rose Creations, a gift shop offering a variety of items, opened its doors in April. The owner, Crystal McGettigan, praised the mall’s cleanliness and friendly atmosphere, attracting both customers and shop owners alike.
Shop 610 Barber Supply, a new addition to the mall, caters to the barbering community by offering a range of professional supplies. Owners Tarell Moultrie and Carmen Rodriguez saw a gap in the market for such products and decided to fill it. Their shop not only stocks essential barbering tools but also premium hair care products that are hard to find elsewhere.
Adjacent to the barber supply store is Gold Drip Jewelry, a new jewelry store specializing in men’s and women’s accessories. Manager Ralphie Nunez highlighted the store’s custom pieces and diverse selection, including 14-karat gold jewelry and diamond rings.
Elay’s Outlet, a clothing store, expanded its offerings by introducing men’s and children’s fashion lines alongside its women’s collection. Owner Laysa Herrera emphasized the store’s commitment to inclusivity, catering to various tastes and sizes.
Uniquely Lo. Co., an artisan furniture store, stands out for its unique offerings. Husband and wife owners Juan and Dawn Lopez, along with their children, restore and create custom furniture pieces, showcasing a blend of creativity and craftsmanship. The store also features hand-made items from consignors and a range of paints for DIY enthusiasts.
Salisbury Youth Association found a new home at the mall, utilizing the space for meetings and retail operations. The organization, which has been active for about 40 years, plans to sell branded apparel and accessories to support its programs.
Meanwhile, in downtown Allentown, Bare Beauty Bar and The Comb Over Barbershop have opened their doors, offering a range of esthetic services and hair-cutting solutions. The businesses aim to provide top-notch services in a welcoming environment, catering to clients’ diverse needs.
Krave 2 Taste, a smoothie and frappe shop, is set to join the downtown Allentown scene, offering a variety of holistic and fruit smoothies. Owner Elizmarie Lopez is excited to bring her popular kiosk concept to a permanent location, providing customers with refreshing and nutritious options.
As the retail landscape evolves, some establishments face closures, like the Entenmann’s Bakery Outlet in Allentown, which is set to shut its doors after 24 years of operation. The changing dynamics in the retail sector reflect the ongoing shifts in consumer preferences and market trends.
Overall, the influx of new businesses in South Mall and downtown Allentown signifies a positive trend in the local retail sector, offering a diverse array of products and services to cater to the community’s needs and preferences.
